Ideal Thinkers

Shaney specializes in conversations with people in leadership roles (including middle leaders), people who work in education, people who live in Japan, workaholics, perfectionists, and people who tend to overthink things. Of course, anyone who wants help moving their thinking forward is welcome to apply.

Introduction

Shaney is originally from Canada, but she has been living in Japan for over twenty years.

She is currently the head of an international school in Japan. She has led the school for over a decade through International Baccalaureate program authorizations and evaluations (for the PYP, MYP, and DP), CIS accreditation and evaluation, periods of crisis (2011 earthquake, COVID-19), facilities development, and an extended stage of growth (from eight students to over three hundred students).

She has struggled with workaholism and food addiction in her life, and as a result, she has learned a great deal about addiction, and the personal transformation that is necessary to combat addiction.

Coaching Stance

My goal as a coach is to help you, the thinker, “press pause” in your own life so that you can make the space for more good things to come to you. By inserting even an infinitesimal pause before our reactions, we can change the direction our lives take. It’s a small thing we can do to have a large impact.

I bring my experience as a leader in education and what I have learned through my struggles with workaholism and food addiction to my coaching practice. I aim to listen deeply and with great attention during our conversations so I can help you discover a way forward that is in line with your own knowledge and values.

I am looking forward to thinking in partnership with you!
